My name is Ryan Pacatte. I am a doctoral candidate in the Ed.D program in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. I also serve as assistant principal at Brighton High School where I have been for the last seven years. In my current position, I serve as the high school
liaison
to the Brighton Schools Alumni Association (BSAA). As a result of these positions, I developed an interest in the importance of perceived care from high school teachers. In particular, I am researching alumni perceptions of teacher care and the extent to which these perceptions influence post secondary experiences.
As alumni of the Brighton Schools, I ask for your participation in a Web survey designed to explore the relationship between perceived care from a high school teacher and a variety of post-secondary outcomes such as, degree attainment, alumni involvement, and civic engagement. The Brighton Schools Alumni Association (BSAA) Co-Presidents support this research, and Paul Hundredmark graciously offered his assistance with the collection of data.
The survey itself is a simple on-line survey. It can be completed in 5-10 minutes. At no time will you be asked to reveal your name or any other identifying information as the survey will be anonymous. The data will be presented only in aggregate form. Participation is completely voluntary, and you can exit the survey at any time. The data collected may be used for this dissertation, conference presentations, and future publications. The data may help educators to better understand how to best influence student experiences.
Thank you for your cooperation and interest.
Sincerely,
Ryan P. Pacatte
